Where will you go on holiday this year? The Mediterranean? Or do you fancy more exotic places? Well, wherever you choose to go, you’ll need one essential item: your very own Hip ‘n Handmade luggage label!

Tools and materials:

  • Transparent self-adhesive film
  • Small round self-adhesive labels (white, Ø 8 mm)
  • (Red) glitter, ultrafine
  • Laminating pouch
  • Laminating machine
  • Permanent pen
  • Brad
  • Two eyelets
  • Key ring

How to:

Draw two identical figures onto the self-adhesive film or use this heart as a template:

Cut the two figures out of the film.

Take the backing of one of the figures and stick a few of the small round labels on the self-adhesive side of the film.
Tip: use the backing to keep the film where you want it, without sticky fingers!

Now, put glitter on the self-adhesive side of the film. I found that the best way to do this is to put some glitter on a piece of paper that is folded open and then gently push your film into the glitter with the sticky side down.

Make sure you cover all of the self-adhesive film. Brush any excess glitter off the white dots. Repeat the process for the second figure.
Tip: you can now slide the remaining glitter back into the container by simply folding the piece of paper again!

Decide what information you need to put on your label. For the example I just wrote my e-mail address on the glossy side with a permanent marker. If you want to put your address and phone number on the label, you could for example write or type on small strips of paper.

Put the two figures in a laminating pouch and laminate following the instructions of your laminating machine.

Cut the figures to size and lay them on top of each other, address on the inside. Fasten together with a brad on one end and punch a hole in the top for your key ring.

Have a nice trip!
